We have lots of different mobile devices in the cloudbase.io office. It seems that all of our iOS testing devices are busy playing League Runners – A new multiplayer game for iOS that mixes elements of Super Mario with the exciting multiplayer racing of Mario Kart in a fantastic platform.
There’s two reasons why League Runners is our new favourite game. First, it’s amazing fun! try it! Secondly, because it’s hosted on cloudbase.io.
Not only it is hosted on our platform, League Runners uses all of the functionality of cloudbase.io in a very clever and efficient way.
The Cloud Database holds all of the persistent data such as users and items. Cozy Cove, The developer of League Runners, has used a number of Cloud Functions to shift a lot of the burden and logic from the mobile application to our cloud. This means that any change in the game mechanics will not require the application to be re-published and updated on all the client devices, simply changing the settings stored in the Cloud Database will affect all of the clients currently running.
We look forward to seeing League Runners at the top of the charts in the App Store soon!
